My B.A. is in Fashion Design. At the time, it was under the umbrella of Home Economics. Modern trends have extinguished the use of that phrase, but economy in all facets of home life will always be good for civilization.

A costumer friend once said sewing and pattern making is soft engineering. Think of all the math and geometry the brain has to grasp to sew anything 3-dimensional.
